Swisscontact joins the UN Global Compact

Swisscontact is now a participant of the UN Global Compact. The Swiss organisation will bring its 50 years of experience in directing business initiative towards poverty reduction into the network.

Initiated by Kofi Annan in the year 2000, the UN Global Compact is fostering corporate responsibility. The signing companies commit themselves to protecting the human rights and basic labour rights as well as saving the environment and avoiding corruption in their business operations. NGOs and multilateral organizations contribute their specific knowledge. At conferences and with concrete initiatives the members of the Global Compact are sharing experience to learn from each other how to private businesses can contribute to an equitable world and saveguard natural resources. Since beginning of 2010, Swisscontact is contributing with its 50 years of experience in fostering entrepreneurship in order to reduce poverty.
