On September 4th, 2023, under the Building Youth Employability Through Skills (BYETS) project, Groyyo Bangladesh Pvt. Ltd. provided Training of Trainers (ToT) in Remi Holdings Limited of the Bitopi Group. The project partnered with consultancy service providers to conduct training to develop master trainers and assessors in the RMG factories. Remi Holdings Limited nominated suitable employees from the factory to receive the ToT for delivering workplace-based training to unskilled and semi-skilled workers. BYETS will embed the knowledge and resources of implementing a WBT system within the factory, by developing master trainers within the private employers. By developing these master trainers, BYETS will assist employers in setting up and implementing the WBT system. Once employers have improved their capacity to provide WBT, workers will become more skilled and employable. A skilled workforce will increase the competitiveness of Bangladesh's RMG sector in the global market along with enabling workers to earn better income. Therefore, the project aims to establish sustainable training facilities within the factories, facilitating the upskilling and reskilling of their existing workers.
The initiation of the Training of Trainers (ToT) program signifies an important step towards achieving a sustainable WBT system in the Ready-Made Garments (RMG) sector. The BYETS project is funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) and is being implemented by Swisscontact. This project has a primary objective of enhancing the income opportunities for the youth of Bangladesh by creating decent employment and self-employment prospects in three key sectors: Ready-Made Garments (RMG), Agro Processing (AP), and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). These efforts are concentrated across four specific divisions, namely Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, and Rajshahi.
