BYETS project signed a strategic partnership with the Information & Communication Technology Industry Skills Council (ICT ISC) to work together to find and develop new trades and skills that have industry demand, as well as to adapt existing curricula to be more inclusive for Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

The Building Youth Employability Through Skills (BYETS) project of Swisscontact has signed a strategic partnership with the ICT Industry Skills Council (ISC) to collaboratively identify and develop industry-relevant trades and skills. Based on findings from a project-led study, BYETS is working with ICT ISC to develop new Competency Standards (CS). Additionally, BYETS will take steps to update existing competency standards and curricula related to the ICT sector, while also creating an inclusive curriculum tailored to meet the needs of Persons with Disabilities (PwD), who represent 2.8% of the country’s total population. Following this, the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) will review and validate the curriculum to ensure alignment with the National Skills Development Policy (NSDP).

Currently, the BYETS project offers market-driven training in Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, and Web Development through partnerships with training providers across Bangladesh, along with job placement support for participants upon successful course completion.

The BYETS project is funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) and it aims to reach out to 25,000 youth through training in Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna and Rajshahi divisions by 2026.
