On August 6th, 2023, BGIFT Institute of Science & Technology (BIST), one of the training partners of the Building Youth Employability Through Skills (BYETS) project, successfully initiated its first five training classes with 125 enrolled trainees in the ICT courses. These courses are designed to span a duration of three months and will be held in two shifts per day (morning and afternoon), conducted by the Training Service Provider (TSPs). Under the ICT sector, the BYETS project is currently offering courses on digital marketing, graphic design, and web development.
The enrichment of digital literacy through comprehensive ICT courses plays a pivotal role in shaping Bangladesh's technological landscape, empowering its workforce with the essential skills to excel in the rapidly evolving digital sphere. As technology has evolved into the cornerstone of communication, marketing, and streamlined business processes, hence, acknowledging the importance of a skilled workforce is crucial for sustainable development in the ICT sector. Therefore, aligning with the government's strategic direction towards advancing "Digital Bangladesh", the BYETS project has introduced structured training programs encompassing a spectrum of ICT courses.
The BYETS project implemented by Swisscontact and funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is committed to empowering young individuals with technical, employability, and entrepreneurship skills, ultimately connecting them to income-generating opportunities in the ICT and Agro Processing (AP) sectors. BYETS project envisions extending support to 20 TSPs for enrolling 10,000 youths in market-driven training across Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, and Rajshahi divisions.
