The rapid digital transformation in Cambodia has reshaped its economic landscape, providing both opportunities and challenges for businesses, especially SMEs. While digital marketing offers a critical pathway for businesses to connect with customers and grow, many SMEs face barriers, including limited digital literacy and access to resources.
Give a Day aims to foster connections among ESOs and encourage discussions on the challenges and opportunities faced by entrepreneurs. Building on insights from the first Give a Day event in Battambang and collective feedback from ESOs, entrepreneurs, and intermediaries, the second Give a Day focused on “Strengthening Digital Capabilities for SMEs.” The event aimed to provide practical solutions to better equip SMEs for success in the digital marketplace.
A key highlight of the event was a series of sessions aimed at enhancing the digital marketing capabilities of participants. The session on Designing Digital Content for SMEs was led by Mr. Mao Chandy, followed by a session on Digital Content Production for SMEs, facilitated by Mr. Chy Sophat. Both sessions were well-received by participants, who engaged in interactive discussions and practical demonstrations.
The event was not just about technical skills but also about fostering deeper collaboration among ESOs and entrepreneurs. By bringing together representatives from different organizations, Give a Day facilitated valuable networking opportunities and encouraged the sharing of best practices. This collaborative spirit was evident in the final session, where participants engaged in a Q&A with the speakers and discussed practical ways to implement digital marketing strategies in their own organizations.
The second Give a Day event, attended by 20 participants, helped enhance the digital marketing skills of local SMEs and grassroots-level ESOs and encouraged collaboration. The event contributed to strengthening the provincial entrepreneurial ecosystem and improving the support available to SMEs. Wrapping up 2024, the Give a Day events in Battambang saw a total of 41 attendees, with 93% expressing overall satisfaction with the platform and 100% indicating they would attend future events. This demonstrates the value of Give a Day as a platform for the ecosystem.
The Give a Day event is co-financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and Khmer Enterprise and co-implemented by Khmer Enterprise and Swisscontact through the Enhancing Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Investments (3Ei) initiative.
