Give a Day continues to serve as a platform for Cambodia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem to connect, exchange ideas, and foster collaboration. Building on the success of previous events in Phnom Penh and Battambang, the 3rd Siem Reap edition aimed to strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem by addressing the specific needs of provincial entrepreneurs. Drawing on feedback from two earlier events this year, the third and final Give a Day of the year focused on “Strengthening Financial Literacy for Entrepreneurs”. This session addressed critical needs in financial literacy to improve entrepreneurs' access to finance, engaging 43 participants, including entrepreneurs and ESOs.
The sessions highlighted the importance of accurate and informative financial reporting, covering the three essential financial reports—income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows. Understanding these financial documents is critical for entrepreneurs to manage their businesses effectively, make informed decisions, and access to finance. The presentation was led by Mr. Chey Sambath, Vice President of YEAC-SR and Founder of CAS-BIZ Technology Co., Ltd., who emphasized the role these reports play in creating robust business plans.
A primary goal of the event is to provide tailored support that addresses the specific needs of entrepreneurs, ensuring stronger alignment of outcomes based on collective feedback from ESOs, entrepreneurs, and intermediaries. The event also aimed to foster mentorship and trust-building among ecosystem players in Siem Reap, promoting effective practices.
The event concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Thong Bunthary, Chair of the Advisory Council at YEAC-SR, who highlighted the importance of ongoing collaboration and financial literacy in driving entrepreneurial success.
With each Give a Day edition, the platform continues to support the development of Cambodia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, particularly in the provinces where tailored support is essential for fostering growth and sustainability. In 2024, the event saw 126 attendees, with 88% expressing overall satisfaction with the program and 91% indicating they would attend future events. This highlights the effectiveness of the Give a Day platform in strengthening collaboration and connections within the Siem Reap ecosystem.
The Give a Day event is co-financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and Khmer Enterprise and co-implemented by Khmer Enterprise and Swisscontact through the Enhancing Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Investments (3Ei) initiative.
