BYETS signed an agreement and onboarded Groyyo Bangladesh Pvt. Ltd. to implement Workplace-Based Training (WBT) in Readymade Garment (RMG) factories.

The Building Youth Employability Through Skills (BYETS) project has signed an agreement with Groyyo Bangladesh Pvt. Ltd on August 14, 2023, for providing consultancy services to employers for adopting customised WBT systems in the RMG sector. This collaboration aims to create and execute workplace-based training in RMG factories in the Dhaka division. As a consultancy service provider of the project, Groyyo will assess the productivity and performance gaps and corresponding training needs of the workers, provide training of trainers (ToT) and Training of Assessors (ToA) to the selected staff at multiple factories, provide technical support to initiate the WBT system in the workplaces. Groyyo’s expertise will be used to implement the first few batches of training and subsequently provide periodic backstopping and monitoring support to the employers to troubleshoot and improve the WBT system in the long run. Groyyo will also design interactive modules for training unskilled and semi-skilled workers. This collaboration will help to develop the capacity of employers and trainers in establishing and improving WBT in factories for upskilling and reskilled workers.

On August 27, 2023, the BYETS project organised an onboarding orientation session to offer Groyyo a detailed overview of the project. The session covered presentations on project monitoring, result and measurement, communication, and gender equality and social inclusion guidelines.

Therefore, the BYETS project collaborating with Groyyo marks a significant step towards achieving the project's goal. The project is funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) and implemented by Swisscontact. The project aims to increase the income of Bangladesh's youth by creating decent employment and self-employment opportunities in three sectors: Readymade Garments (RMG), Agro-processing (AP), and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) across four divisions precisely Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, and Rajshahi.
