The Building Youth Employability Through Skills (BYETS) developed a module for the workplace-based training of RMG workers. The module on “Sewing Methodology Training” has been developed by Groyyo, a leading international consulting firm driving productivity, efficiency and growth with extensive experience in the RMG sector.
A three-day long workshop was organised by the BYETS project on 12th-14th September to disseminate the module among other local consulting firms and the BYETS team so that in future the training module can be introduced to other factories and firms providing workplace-based training services. The module will be used by other workplace-based training and consultancy service providers, and master trainers in RMG factories to facilitate workplace-based training for upskilling and reskilling workers.
Implemented by Swisscontact and funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN), Building Youth Employability Through Skills (BYETS) projects intends to provide workplace-based training to 15,000 unskilled and semi-skilled workers in Agro-Processing (AP) and RMG factories. This module will play a pivotal role in achieving this. The project’s overarching goal is to enhance income opportunities of youth by empowering them through market-driven skills in the RMG, AP, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sectors across four divisions, namely Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, and Rajshahi over four years (2022-2026).
