On 23 August 2023, the PROGRESS project signed an MoU with Everbright Sweater Limited. The signing event marks the collaboration for implementing a sustainable industry-based training model (IBT) in the factory with the vision to work together to identify and develop new strategies and to utilise resources from Everbright Sweater Limited for the skills development of workers, particularly women in the RMG sector.
PROGRESS will provide support for the development or improvement of an IBT system aimed at training factory staff and workers. This partnership aims to increase the involvement of women in all stages of the process, which will contribute to improved productivity for all.
Implemented by Swisscontact and funded by the Embassy of Sweden, PROGRESS strives to improve productivity, working conditions, environmental and social compliance among workers, including women, and enable factories to become more attractive to large global buyers for large orders that are consistent. Also, the project will support the factories to run in-house training on the technical skills of factory workers to upgrade their skills.
