Local folk arts revitalised to boost community awareness in cleaning campaign
Bangladesh’s traditional folk arts are being leveraged to educate and mobilise communities on pressing environmental issue – waste management. The ongoing cleaning campaign in Naogaon and Satkhira uses art forms such as Jari and Gambhira to promote sustainable waste management, water conservation, and climate resilience practices.
Local markets embrace integrated waste management practices, GO4IMPact
Recognising the importance of maintaining clean and sustainable market environments, traders have embraced integrated waste management to create a more inviting space for customers. Supported by the Embassy of Switzerland, and implemented by the GO4IMPact project, initiated by WaterAid and Swisscontact consortium, the campaign spearheaded collaboration with local market actors to promote waste management practices.
